Lenovo IdeaPad U110

The Lenovo IdeaPad U110 is the newest member of the family and was recently IdeaPad gather much attention. Lenovo could be famous for the ThinkPad line of portables, but most average consumers do not find the traditional style of the ThinkPad line to be very attractive. Our First Look IdeaPad U110 review showed how beautiful this notebook is compact. How did U110 achieve ultimately in our final exam? Take a look and see if this diva is a super model or to the D-list.

The IdeaPad U110 is surprisingly strong in terms of construction quality. Aluminum etch display cover aluminium and magnesium frame both the strength and lightness. You can push as hard as you want anywhere on the body of the computer and it will simply not bending. Like the ThinkPad line, the IdeaPad U110 is designed for (accidentally) and drops abuse, and we guess the U110 could be the most rugged laptop in the range IdeaPad. Unlike the ThinkPad, you do not receive a double locking mechanism with button release sure that the screen takes place when it is closed and in progress. Instead, the hinge U110 uses tension to hold the screen in place.

The display engraved aluminum cover (available in black and red) is probably the most interesting element of design on the U110. Lenovo call it their "Tendril texture" and it looks like a complex floral and vine pattern. IdeaPad Designers have gone even further with the design by extending the "Tendril" on the model bottom of the computer and touch media buttons. Even the heat of the exhaust air feature an extra touch of class. This is certainly not a boring ThinkPad.

Although the U110 does not have an internal optical drive, Lenovo would supply an external USB dual-layer CD / DVD recordable drive with the purcahse of the U110. The disc itself is equally elegant with a rubberized black ThinkPad-like texture and silver polished vents on the sides. The reader is powered USB there is no need for a separate power adapter. However, the reader needs two USB connections (one for power and one for data) so that you can lose two USB ports if the player is connected.

The IdeaPad U110 was not built to compete with your office to a quad core processor. Thin Notebook trip as the use U110 low-voltage transformers to save energy and reduce the accumulation of heat. The IdeaPad U110 uses a 1.60 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo L7500 processor is quite capable of running office applications and to make any general web related tasks, but will not serve well for 3D graphics applications or any heavy tasks rendering.

Similarly, Intel X3100 integrated graphics you will play a few games of light, perhaps even Half Life 2 on low settings (see our Intel X3100 review for more details), but generally you'll need to stick to e-mail, Web browsing, office tasks and photo editing. This is sufficient for most consumers ... especially if you already have a powerful desktop computer.

The hard disk storage could have completed the performance if it were a 7200rpm or 5400 trs / min drive. Better yet, a super fast DSS would have given the U110 other "snappiness." Unfortunately, the slow 4200rpm hard drive on the U110 only made the system much slower than during everyday use.

Let's look at some basic criteria to give you an idea of how batteries U110.

wPrime is a program that requires the processor to make mathematical calculations recursive, this processor referral program is multi-threaded and can use both processor cores at once, it measures the amount of time to run a fixed amount of calculations .
