Asus is one of the few manufacturers of mobile phones to integrate genuine leather on their laptops, Asus says that each piece of leather used for U2E is chosen and subjected to more rigorous review to ensure quality before being applied each notebook. In other words, the leather seems flawless.
The 11.1 "display on the U2E has a WXGA resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and uses an LED backlit technology. The advantage of LEDs on the conventional CCFL used on most notebooks is that DEL consume less energy and in turn increase battery life. Backlight LED also generates more luminance (brightness) with 20% -50% less thickness and weight.
The keyboard on the Asus U2E is quite remarkable compared to other keyboards in this category. The keyboard has almost no flex, even above the optical drive, which is a big improvement over the same size notebooks from other manufacturers.
Like most ultra notebooks, Asus U2E sacrifices some ports in order to achieve the smallest size. The U2E was not designed to manage your treatment of digital video.
The sound is good for watching short video clips or Web conferencing, but do not expect to listen to music or full-length movies using the built-in speaker. The sound is similar to what you get to a small cell phone on the built-in "speaker phone" and then put down the phone in a tin can.
Asus claims the 9-battery can provide more than 6 hours of power and 3-cell can provide 2 hours.
The Asus U2E makes sense for anyone considering a luxury ultra portable. The premium black leather, metal accents, and a solid selection of accessories included U2E give just enough of an edge to make the competition want to pay special attention.
